Instructions

  2. Crush the strawberries and measure out 2 cups into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add 4 cups of sugar to the crushed strawberries and let the mixture sit for 10 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  4. In a saucepan, stir together the fruit pectin and 3/4 cup water, then bring to a boil while stirring constantly for 1 minute before removing from heat.
  5. Quickly add the boiled pectin to the strawberry mixture and stir for about 3 minutes until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture thickens.
  6. Fill jelly jars immediately, leaving about 1/2 inch of space at the top, cover with lids, and let set at room temperature for 24 hours before freezing.
