  • 60 g milk
  • 50 g oil

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 400 g heavy cream (cold)
  • 40 g powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 large strawberries (diced, plus more whole or halved strawberries for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease two 6-inch round cake pans.
  2. Whip egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form; gradually add 100g sugar until stiff peaks develop.
  3. In another bowl, mix yolks, milk, oil, and vanilla; sift in flour and baking powder, stirring until smooth.
  4. Gently fold whipped egg whites into yolk mixture in three additions until fully incorporated.
  5. Divide batter between pans and bake for about 25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean; cool completely.
  6. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  7. Assemble by layering cake with whipped cream and diced strawberries; finish with decoration on top.
