Ingredients
- 1 pound raw extra jumbo shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 2 large garlic cloves (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon minced jalapeno
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons agave syrup (optional)

- chopped cilantro
- wedges of fresh lime (for squeezing over top of grilled shrimp)
Instructions
- Soak wooden skewers in water if using.
- In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, jalapeno, brown sugar, and spices; blend until smooth.
- Coat shrimp in marinade; refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours.
- If using agave syrup, fold into marinated shrimp before threading onto skewers with lime slices.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat; grill shrimp for about 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through.
