  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 cup whipped cream, lightly sweetened

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add milk while mixing until a slightly sticky dough forms.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface; knead gently and shape into a disc about an inch thick. Cut into rounds using a cookie cutter.
  6. Place shortcakes on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly, slice each shortcake horizontally, layer with berries and whipped cream, then top with the other half.
