  • 1 cup coconut milk (full-fat or light)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 34 whole cardamom pods (slightly crushed)
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger (sliced)
  • 23 whole cloves
  • 12 tbsp coconut sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 1½ cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add the cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, sliced ginger, and cloves; simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the black tea leaves (or tea bags) and steep for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the coconut milk and simmer on low heat for an additional 2-3 minutes.
