Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine butter, sugar, salt, and water over medium heat until melted.
  3. Using a candy thermometer, boil the mixture until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), stirring continuously.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and half of the chopped nuts.
  5. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee, allowing them to melt before spreading.
  7. Garnish with additional chopped nuts and flaked sea salt if desired.
  8. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
