  • 4 large apples (2 Honeycrisp and 2 Granny Smith)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch (dissolved in water)
  • 5 tbsp butter (partially melted) for streusel topping
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour for streusel topping
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar for streusel topping
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon for streusel topping
  • 1/4 cup melted butter for icing
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for icing
  • 2 tbsp milk for icing
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla for icing
  • 1/21 tsp cinnamon for icing (based on your preference)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and grease a muffin tin with softened butter.
  2. Peel and slice apples into thin pieces; combine with brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, melted butter, and cornstarch mixture. Heat until thickened.
  3. Press cinnamon rolls into muffin cups to create cavities for filling.
  4. Fill each cavity with the apple mixture using a slotted spoon to drain excess syrup.
  5. Combine streusel ingredients until crumbly; top each filled roll generously.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown. Prepare icing while baking.
  7. Allow rolls to cool slightly before drizzling with icing.
